How Adam Brings Personal Passion to Work

For field marketing manager Adam Duda, the ability to work internationally was a must-have in his career.

“I have always looked for a kind of international environment,” Adam shared with me. This started early, traveling and studying abroad as a child with his parents. Growing up in Poland under communism, Adam was intrigued by the different cultures, politics and people he encountered. When recalling those early travels, he said, “I saw how the world outside [of communism] looks very colorful. So that's the kind of thing that shaped me.”

Now, Adam has been in marketing at Splunk for over six years in central Europe. His journey started in our Munich, Germany office. Several years later when the pandemic hit, he was able to move home to Poland.

“My history kind of coincided with Splunk's history, that Splunk came to my city, where I am from in Krakow originally. After 16 years living in Germany, I moved to my home, keeping the job at Splunk for the same region, which was just amazing. That was a fulfillment of some kind of my dream, and I now work in the international environment at my home.”

Adam’s passion for different cultures has served an integral role in his career at Splunk. As a marketing manager across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, he and his team are responsible for creating campaigns and programs for customers in each of these unique markets to show them the value of our products. His favorite part of this work is, of course, getting to know other people. Adam shared, “We do work globally across teams at Splunk, which I had not always had a chance to do in my previous company. Splunk really gives an opportunity to know what the other teams are doing, and this is also exciting to meet new people and learn.”

This teamwork doesn’t just satisfy Adam’s passion for other cultures, but has also helped him to develop his career. He says that, “Thanks to Splunk, I really developed not only professionally by working and observing other teams, but personally as well. I think we have a lot of top talent at Splunk. These are really interesting people with charisma. And I found I got really inspired.”

Not only do Splunkers get inspired by fellow employees, but they have the freedom to act on that inspiration to create and make an impact at Splunk. “Splunk promotes an atmosphere of creativity,” Adam says. “There is always a space where you can be creative. We have grown and are more and more process oriented, but I still think Splunk allows a lot of space for creativity. And I find it really unique and amazing that this is possible.”

We’re proud to have an environment where Splunkers can share their cultural differences, have the flexibility to work where it works for them, and learn from each other. To learn more about life at Splunk, head to splunk.com/careers!
