You can always click "Log In" at the top right of most splunk.com pages and choose Log in or Sign up.
Splunk's trials are free for evaluation and learning purposes. No credit card is required when you sign up.
The duration of Splunk trials varies by product:
- Splunk Enterprise trial: 60 days.
- Splunk Cloud Platform trial: 14 days.
- Splunk Application Performance Monitoring: 14 days as part of the Splunk Observability Cloud trial.
- Splunk Real User Monitoring: 14 days as part of the Splunk Observability Cloud trial.
- Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring: 14 days as part of the Splunk Observability Cloud trial.
- Splunk Observability Cloud trial: 14 days.
- Splunk AppDynamics trial: 30 days.
- Splunk On-Call trial: 14 days.
Trial periods are subject to change. In some instances, you may be able to request an extension at the end of your trial. Contact sales for more information.

After completing the 60-day free trial of Splunk Enterprise, you can convert to a perpetual free license for a standalone, single-instance use installation. The Free license does not expire, but it is subject to restrictions and does not include all features.
- The Free license is for a standalone, single-instance use only installation.
- The Free license gives limited access to Splunk Enterprise features and does not support all Operating Systems.
- The Free license allows you to index 500 MB per day. If you exceed that, you will receive a license violation warning.
- The Free license prevents searching if there are license violation warnings.
To get a perpetual free license for Splunk Enterprise:
- Log in to your user account on splunk.com (create an account if you don’t have one).
- Download the latest version of Splunk Enterprise for your operating system (not all Operating Systems are supported in the free version).
- Follow installation instructions for your operating system.
